Sri Lankan Women dethroned the Indian women's team after defeating them in the final T20 match of Asia Cup 2024.

It is the first time SriLankan Women team has lifted the trophy in Asia Cup. It happened because of the 2 fifties, one was scored by Chamari Athapaththu (61 runs) and the other fifty scored by Harshitha Samarawickrama (69* runs).

It was India who won the toss and then they decided to bat first. When the Indian team came to bat, they played very well and scored 165 runs with the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Smriti Mandhana played very well and scored 60 runs off 47 balls. Richa Ghosh scored 30 runs after facing just 14 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues also played a great knock after hitting 29 runs off 16 balls.

When the SriLankan team came to bowl, Kavisha Dilhari took 2 wickets after bowling 4 overs. Sachini Nisansala and Udeshika Prabodhani booth took 1 wicket each.

Sri Lanka achieved the target in 18.4 overs with the loss of just two wickets.

We fans want to congratulate Sri Lankan Cricket Team for winning the final of Asia Cup for the first time. Sri Lankan Cricket Team was young and highly skillful and they deserved winning and lifting the trophy.
